FAQ's

Would it be cheaper to get a wrecked car and swap over from it?
I would be careful with that since you don't know if the engine is running after, if it is a front-end collision. Also some of the parts you may need could be smashed up, and or have weather damage.

You Didn't splice any wires, why?
I have seen a few swaps where people had to splice, and do some pinning out, I however HATE wiring up stuff. Yes you can use the 3.8 harness, but I am not sure about the splicing thing, check with Magnus, on the camarov6.com board. If you get the entire underhood harness, there is nothing to wire up, pull out the old harness and run the 5.7 harness thru the firewall, it will run thru in 2 locations. Driverside, and passengerside, everything will plug right up to the interior harness.

What about my rearend?
If you have a Y87 you already have a posi, but if you do not I would recommend getting a posi, or you will just make a nice smoke show. Our rears as far as Z28's go is the same.

Can I use my 3.8 steering linkage?
Yes! The arm that connects the steering wheel under the hood to the k-member can be used with the LS-1.

Did you have any MAJOR issues with the swap?
Nope everything is pretty much plug and play.

What about VATS
Well you can get a VATS bypass from ebay, or you can do like I did and send the ECM off and have it reprogrammed to work with your VIN.

Will I retain my factory alarm, and fuctions?
Yes my alarm works fine!

If I have any problems or need help with my swap can I contact you?
Yes! I have no problem helping out people with the LS1 swap since there are few people that have done it with the success I have had. Email me for the fastest response, if we can't get it settled by email or if you need to take notes, I will supply a phone number by email and you can contact over the phone for direct help. If you are local I will even drive over if you need me to.

Did you have any issues with the airbags?
No I did not, I have seen a few people have problems with this, but since I used the V8 underhood harness I guess thats why I did not have a problem.
